The date on the package is never overwritten. Opened, frozen and thawed dates are tracked separately, and an estimate always says it is one.
What needs using today, what needs using soon, and what is past its date. Everything else is counted as fine.
Used something up? Put it back on the list in one tap. Expired food gets a Replace button. Running low and recipe ingredients land there too, with the reason under each item. A long list groups itself by aisle, produce first and frozen last, and the screen stays on while you shop.
Check items off as you shop, then tap Put bought items away. They move into your food with where they go and their dates filled in, ready to check.
A few suggestions each day, search when you want something else, or import a link and share one from Safari. PantryPalz shows which ingredients you already have. Add missing puts the rest on your list, and Cook & use updates your quantities. While you cook, tap each step to cross it off: the text grows and the screen stays on.

No. A barcode identifies the product, not the date printed on your package. Scan the printed date, type it, or keep the estimate PantryPalz offers, which is always labelled as an estimate.
Treat them as general guidance on how long food usually keeps, not a safety guarantee. Check the package, look at the food, and when in doubt, throw it out.
Yes. Everything works offline except looking up a barcode PantryPalz has not seen before, importing a recipe link, finding new recipes, and signing in. Reminders are scheduled on your phone, so they arrive without a connection.
Yes. The last step of setting up is creating one, with an email address and a password. There is no Apple, Google or Facebook login to bother with. The account holds your email address and a hashed password, which is what lets PantryPalz Pro follow you to a new phone. Your food list, history, shopping lists and recipes are still stored on your phone and in your own device backups, not on a server of ours. You can delete the account any time in Settings, under Account.
In the app, go to Settings then Feedback & Support, and pick Report a bug, Suggest an idea or Get help. Your message reaches us with your app version and iOS version attached, and nothing else. A person reads every one, and replies land within two working days.
Yes, to see which features help and where people get stuck. PantryPalz records things like which screens are opened and whether food was marked used, never your food names, receipts or recipe links, and never for ads. Turn it off in Settings, under Privacy. See the Privacy Policy.
They are read on your phone to find the food lines. The image is not saved and not uploaded. You check the list before anything is added.

Most recipe pages that publish their recipe in a standard format import cleanly, but not every site does. When one does not, type the recipe in with one ingredient per line.

In PantryPalz, go to Settings and tap Delete all my data. Uninstalling the app also removes it, apart from any iCloud or device backups you keep. If you signed in, delete your account in Settings, under Account. See the Privacy Policy.
